Italian Food has always been close to the hearts of the Filipino. Traditional ways of preparing good ingredients in a certain way that has been passed down for generations. It comes down to the quality ingredients, the effort that goes into the preparation and the generous portions.
There has been always a soft spot, for this type of meal. Perhaps it’s because of some similarities we share such as family style dining, close family ties, and respect for your elders. We have loved this cuisine so much that we Filipinos have even innovated on one of their flagship dishes the spaghetti and made it our own by adding sugar and hotdogs. It’s a cuisine that’s relate-able, and familiar to us.
Here on the South side of Metro Manila, there has been one Italian restaurant that has been trying to provide that same experience here in Molito Commercial Complex, Alabang. Newly renovated Buona Vita re-opens its doors to offer diners a taste of Italian home-style cooking.
The rustic design of the area is reminiscent of the balcony scene in Romeo and Juliet. Wooden panels and course walls welcome you to this establishment.
For their weekend promotion, they will be offering an Italian buffet spread for PHP 790+ per person.
Their Italian Buffet offering starts with a selection of breads, salad, and soup. A choice between two kinds of pasta dishes and their Roasted chicken and Porchetta.
OUR TOP PICKS
Three different kinds of Flat breads are served in their buffet. Our favorite was the 4 cheese flavor.
Al dente pasta cooked in garlic and olive oil. Each bite covers your mouth with a comforting garlic taste.
Crispy pork skin, and their juicy tender meat is flavorful in every bite. It’s quite tempting to pair this with rice.
With over 15 years experience, Chef Davide Lombardi takes the helm at serving you with home-style Italian fare.
While owner/beer connoisseur Thomas Moershime, a certified WSET sommelier provides you with a wide array of Beer pairing from his home country of Germany and wine from small family-owned vineyards all over Europe.
While the first floor of the establishment is for dining. The second floor will be offering courses on wine pairings, and certification courses in the future.
Overall, Buona Vita tries to create an authentic Italian experience for diners in the South Area. While there is still some improvements to be made in the whole experience, they are welcoming and inviting to anyone who wants to eat home-style Italian cooking.
