Tagaytay has always been a short getaway for those who live on the South side of Metro Manila. It’s easily accessible, and the weather is chillier than most parts of Manila. While we think it’s only during the 80’s and 90s that Tagaytay drew its fame. It’s actually been a place to take refuge and a hideaway for revolutionaries from the nearby provinces of Batangas and Laguna in the 1890’s.
Today, it still serves the same purpose. The unrelenting cycle of going to work and then home, and doing it all over again everyday can sometimes cause distress and toxicity in our lives that we just need to go on a short trip. The cold cool air is inviting and is a great place to unwind. It’s a place to get away and leave the Manila behind in a short drive.
While constantly evolving with commercial establishments and restaurants, Tagaytay maintains its charm with the best view of the Taal Volcano, it’s laid back atmosphere, and cool weather.
Tagaytay is very accessible and there are several ways to get there and to go around the surrounding area.
The most convenient way to get to Tagaytay is to bring a car. Drive-thru South Luzon Express Way and take the Sta.Rosa Exit, then turn right towards Tagaytay, there are signs that are visible so you won’t miss. That road will lead you straight towards your destination
From Buendia, Go to the LRT Gil Puyat Station (also known as Buendia). At this terminal, there are buses going to Nasugbu, Balayan, and Lemery in Batangas and these will pass through Tagaytay. You can choose from DLTB, San Agustin, or Jam Transit.

Located on the ground floor of One Tagaytay Place, Amacena serves Filipino Comfort Food. Their rustic interiors are inviting. While the design is straight forward. The restaurant itself takes pride in being one of the best in Tagaytay Dining.
We recommend these standout dishes:
Tender meat with a thick gravy served with a generous piece of bone marrow.
Puttanesca sauce topped with 3 kinds of cheese (Parmesan, mozzarella, and cheddar), pancetta and arugula. Crispy crust flavored with squid ink. This dish was absolutely addicting.
Beef served in a sizzling dish with a soy calamansi gravy topped with crisp onion rings. A nice combination of varying textures and flavors. Excellent with rice.
They also serve the in-house breakfast with various pinoy breakfast favourites like tapsilog and tawilis silog that comes with a plate of fresh fruits and coffee to start your day.
Whether you’re checking in, or just spending a day in the city. It’s a must to dine at Amacena!

Try O’Spas calming massage.
