Did you know that Solaire Casino and Resort isn’t just about their pretty grand casino and posh hotel rooms? When you step inside its premises there is this certain feeling of indulgence that you feel you need to dive into. May it be their unparalleled gaming facility, entertainment, leisure shops and dining. But unknown to many, Solaire is also a playground for food enthusiasts. A whole swing of fine dining in-house signature restaurants. They’ve brought in the best of the best in the culinary scene to deliver a pleasurable gourmet experience.
Last Saturday, the Fat Girls Day Out crew were back once again in Solaire. We had a magnificent time last December with one of their in-house restaurant Finstra. We’re pretty psyched out to be visiting yet again and it’ll be our first time to try out Waterside at Solaire’s (Latin American Dishes) and this time to have a snippet of their theme driven Saturdays for the whole month of Mach, the Viva Tijuana! – A hefty buffet spread of Tex- Mex’s best flavors, which comes with free-flowing curated beverage selection.
Can you think of anything better than sampling authentic Mexican cuisine, listening to live Latin music and perhaps drink the night away? Why not! Anyway, there’s still Sunday to recuperate from that fun night right?
As we step inside Waterside, vibrant banderitas adorned the whole room, red & yellow saturated hues give a very festive dinner ambiance as you walk past thru the whole buffet spread.
Basic elements in Mexican cooking were well represented in stache of corns, chilis, amongst others. Looking past the street taco -casual brand, Mexican cuisine is actually as complex as those of China and Japan. Their techniques of cooking were developed thousands of years ago dating back to the Aztecs.
Tex-Mex cuisine incorporates a wide variety of sauces. Mix and match these fresh ingredients to complement your dish.
Chilies are a primary flavor ingredient in Mexican food, whether smoked, dried, fresh or picked. Waterside had everything from the chipotle style, guajillo (long soaked), jalapeno, and chilies that were leveled mild & sweet (poblano) up to super hot variety (habanero).
As you make your way around the buffet spread of Tex-Mex food, you will notice how important and unique each style cooking is. Everything is completely natural and flavorful, rich in color and taste, along with spices that have a righteous kick.
The possibilities and combinations are endless for the diners who’d want to awaken their senses with fresh and bold flavors.

Aside from the unlimited nitrogen margarita as we’ve mentioned free-flowing drinks of your choice is available for you to enjoy while listening to live music. Grab a cold Corona, house white & red, Sangrias amongst other choices.
Everything was beautifully presented, of high quality and most importantly purist form representation of the cuisine that they’re trying to convey to their diners. The service was excellent and very notable. As if giving a wonderful customer experience is a natural feat for them without trying too hard to over impress.
We highly recommended that you EXPERIENCE Waterside’s Viva Tijuana dinner spread all Saturdays of March and April. The main operative word is ‘experience’ because from the moment you walk in, the smell, sound, the comfort of their dining area, the food, and those free-flowing drinks. Yes, you do deserve that kind of weekend.
